This is fun. Just discovered another local Etsy shop, RIDICULOUSWEAR. I still have mixed feelings about Etsy. I'm all about doing the legwork (fingerwork?) to find the goods, but there's way too much junk on there. That said, I love my new chairs.

Every year I buy a pair of tan sandals and wear them until they look like roadkill with a spray tan. It was time to replace the three pairs I had on rotation, so yesterday I picked up these at the Madewell store on Lincoln Road. They also had a bunch of tshirts for under $10 in the sale section so you can finally wash your American Apparel tri-blend.

I guess I'm feeling jazzy today. 1960s Pucci evening purse via where else? 1stdibs. The best.

Also in a freaky google search for Jeff Koons I somehow came across the room divider I found years ago at the Chelsea Garage Flea Market, and now I know who made it, Robert Fellner and Mark Hurst for Furnette. Not quite Paul McCobb, but for now it stores my book hoards nicely. It was featured in an ad for Halpern & Gillman in 1958. 

I'll be moving into a new apartment in January, so while browsing Craigslist, I came across Urbanite Miami. They sell awesome mid-century furniture out of their Coral Gables apartment on Etsy. Hoping to get a pair of Diamond Bertoia chairs this week :)

This new years I resolve to check out the handful of Japanese restaurants that I keep neglecting. Since my trip to Japan this summer I became obsessed with the cuisine, but after a few months that post-trip hype wore off and never ended up going to the spots on my list. So here it is....let me know if I miss any good ones. Matsuri is my favorite but its not on the list since I've already been.

Favorite jewelry designer Nektar de Stagni is closing up the store on 38th Street at the end of the year (she'll be back...but for now she's going to be doing pop-ups around the States)....until then she has new vintage at her shop including Valentino, Givenchy, and more. Also check her current pop up shop  at MoCA in North Miami along with Donna Karan's "Urban Zen"Collection, where you can find artwork, housewares, and jewelry created by Haitian women.

I was pleasantly surprised to receive the premiere issue of Taschen Magazine this morning which came with a $50 gift card to be used at the Taschen store on Lincoln Road. I spent a good 5 minutes looking for the fine print and all I could find was an expiration date of December 31st, so looks like I'll be adding to my book piles when I get back from Puerto Rico this weekend.  


On my radar, the Pucci book and 36 Hours, a compilation of New York Times 36 Hours column, featuring 150 weekend destinations across the US and Canada.
