A Boucherite rug once on display at Calvin Morris. These types of Moroccan rugs are made by women from "torn or reused clothing" and lack the symmetry of typical Middle Eastern rugs. The chaotic patterns symbolic of the Berber herder tribes' nomadic freedom from structured city living. via old NYTimes.

In 2007, Alessi released The Fruit Backet Family,  a range of products designed by Japanese architects Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa of SANAA, and I think I'm in love. So now we need this + a place to live, you know the basics.
Available at Arango .

Also in a freaky google search for Jeff Koons I somehow came across the room divider I found years ago at the Chelsea Garage Flea Market, and now I know who made it, Robert Fellner and Mark Hurst for Furnette. Not quite Paul McCobb, but for now it stores my book hoards nicely. It was featured in an ad for Halpern & Gillman in 1958.

I'll be moving into a new apartment in January, so while browsing Craigslist, I came across Urbanite Miami. They sell awesome mid-century furniture out of their Coral Gables apartment on Etsy. Hoping to get a pair of Diamond Bertoia chairs this week :)

Not sure what I love more the house or the chairs.
The iconic “Hardoy Chair 198″, aka The Butterfly Chair, The BKF Chair, whatever you want to call it, was designed by Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy in 1938. It was produced by Knoll but they dropped it from their line when they lost the legal battle against all the copies that were being reproduced. Image via here.
