happy belated easter. I spent the weekend visiting my aunt and uncle in mt.laurel/cherry hill, NJ. We also took a drive around central Philadelphia, where Carlo had never been, so that fun. And amazing food! My cousin is a great cook...

Yesterday it was decided this historic Coppertone Ad would not be put away forever. This ad one of my favorite things to see when being driven as a kid to my friends house in Miami Beach. It was decided that they would take it town to refurbish it, then put it back in its original location. Apparently Coppertone was developed by a phamacist in Miami many years ago. Right now I am awake solely because my sunburn is so bad! I need to come home more often.

hello again....

Been a while, just wanted to stop by and say hi. Things have been very non-stop over here, my family has been in town for over a week, and before that I had a friend here. I've been working as a freelancer at Kiehl's and taking a promotional branding class at Parsons as well. So you can imagine! Anyway...I am very excited for Spring to come, I've already started to buy open toe shoes and ethnic jewelry. (Not that you can't wear chunky necklaces in the fall, I just look forward to big necklaces for spring, like I do scarves for the fall) so anyway...Hopefully I will going home to Miami in March for the Emmanuel Perrotin Galerie Opening, to redeem my Standard Bingo prizes with Carla, and to see my family and friends. I also don't have any jobs lined up for March! Oops! I need to get on that. Anyway....I leave you with one of my most exciting purchases on sale from Opening Ceremony. A Christian Joy for TopShop Sailboat dress. Coincidentally shes the girl that does the Karen O. costumes.

Not that its a big deal, although being openly starstruck is shunned in this city lol, but Karen O. just picked up her laundry next to me, I let her butt since I couldn't find my ticket. I love her.

Some News....

APC is opening a surplus store with stuff from the prior seasons in Brooklyn....andddd I will be starting at Kiehl's on Tuesday for a month "try out", I will be working on some packaging....Also my parents are going to China, Malaysia, the Phillipines, Singapore next week, so if you have any cool places you recommend please let me know, my mom is going to be doing some exploring while my dad is at work, so any suggestions are welcome! I will be back in the city on Monday...Meanwhile I am still working at Galerie Perrotin, check it out!

New Favorite

One of my favorite things to do when I'm in Miami is pay a visit to the Standard Hotel. Its near the beach, but without the stress of parking and traffic, and sand. Don't get me wrong I love the beach, but the Standard is this amazing little gem that not many of the locals know about. I went with some friends for the day, you buy a $40 pass and you get a yoga class, a locker with a robe, access to the indoor saunas, baths, and steam room, plus the outdoor pools. Its makes the hecticness of being home feel a little more like a vacation. Not only the pools, but the entire complex is just so well done and decorated. Sunday nights they have a little party and hold a Bingo competition in the lobby. Anyway, I will be going back Sunday hopefully I win (they have good prizes)

Boot/Sneakers

I used to love these when I was little, I had all different colors and now OAK is carrying them, and I quite like them, except you can definitely get them cheaper if you search online. Palladium boots. Get some and maybe so will I.

APC is having its online sale. I picked up that dress I wanted way back with the flowers, but in off white, the navy was sold out.

Change of Plans...

So as some may know, I was supposed to be starting the year off freelancing at Kiehls, but the person who hired me has dissappeared, and not returned one of my 4 emails or phonecalls. So I have changed my ticket and will be staying in Miami until after my friends wedding on the 11th. Luckily, I've been given a chance to work at my favorite gallery, Emmanuel Perrotin until I go back. I hung out with my friend that works there and some of her coworkers where between 5 of us we devoured 10 bottles of champagne on Friday, it was quite fun and relaxing and made me appreciate being home for now.

2008 Kickoff

I picked up this Stendig Calendar at Jack Spade a few weeks back, and one for Carlo and Melvin as well, my friend Alex had said it was nice and big and would fill part of my bare walls, and it did quite nicely.
So, New Years Resolutions.
First of course is to post more frequently.
Second, I'd like to do more Ebaying. I have my eye on something right now!
Third, I would like to have more "detalle" (detail) Basically, that's how Cubans refer to people who always just go the extra inch with their thoughtfulness, so yes, I'd like to have more detail with my family and close friends and Carlo of course. So that means remembering to call my grandparents, sending birthday cards, and the always fun, "I got you this for no reason". So Happy New Year, and let's see how well I do!
